The Lanes : The
oldest part of Brighton - this small area is the hub of the City.
Bustling in a maze of alleys, known as Twittens, you can taste
the history, hear the gulls and tread the same cobbles as Pinkie
in Graham Greene's Brighton Rock. From designer boutiques to
the most scrumptuous of chocolate shops... crammed with cafes & tea-rooms,
apothecaries and lingerie... oh, a delight!

Jeremy
Hoye
Prince Albert Street
Jeremy Hoye trained in Jewellery Design with an apprenticeship in a
top London Goldsmiths, training in diamond mounting and precious metal
settings. The first Jeremy Hoye shop opened in Brighton, in 1994. It’s
here we showcase the work of Jeremy Hoye and 17 other contemporary
jewellers. Our work ethic is to provide original designed jewellery,
made and manufactured in UK for a fair price. Under no circumstances
will we deal with ethically unsound sources. The look of our store
evolves as much as the collections to make the sure the whole shopping
experience is as exciting and enjoyable as possible. Every year
sees the introduction of new pieces, each being different from
the last, expressing the diverse styles Jeremy can work in.

Choccywoccydoodah!
24 Duke Street
Choccywoccydoodah’s ethos is to produce design focussed
chocolaterie. We specialise in one-off sculptured fantasies, Bespoke
wedding cakes, gifts
(small and thoughtful, as well as extravagant gestures), birthday cakes, slabs
of marbled chocolate, fantasy pets, really naughty stuff…… all
in chocolate. We use only fine Belgian chocolate covertures and coatings for
everything we do. It takes a huge amount of intensive work and
training to become a choccywoccydoodah chocolatier. Each member of our very
specialised teams are chosen because of their art school or catering backgrounds.
Their skills are then adapted to their new medium – chocolate.

A short
film which not only covers a brief history of The Lanes
but also looks at the type of shops, cafe’s and independent
businesses that can be found there. It gives
